CA Bridge collects and evaluates hospital data to demonstrate the value of the CA Bridge model. Our current data collection and evaluation focuses on the Behavioral Health Pilot Project (BHPP) to ensure that Bridge programs are recognized as a critical component of the substance use disorder treatment system.
Behavioral Health Pilot Project (BHPP) Reporting
Hospitals receiving funding through the BHPP are required to submit data for the CA Bridge data portal for the months of January 1 – June 30, 2021. Meeting this requirement will place hospitals in good standing for renewal of BHPP funding should it become available. Sites are required to submit monthly data to CA Bridge for the months of January 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022 and are expected to be up to date on data submission by July 8, 2021 and at the end of the program.
- Phase I reporting: January 1 – June 30, 2021 monthly data submission due by July 8, 2021
- Phase II reporting: July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022 monthly data submission
Data Reporting Overview
See the Data Reporting Overview for step-by-step instructions on how to submit data.
The data portal is for hospitals to report aggregate data to track the adoption of the CA Bridge model across the state. This portal captures data elements required of recipients of BHPP funding.
Internal Data Tracker
This Internal Data Tracker is for substance use navigators and sites to keep track of their BHPP reporting metrics. It is not an official data submission report.
Data Reporting FAQs
Our site has BHPP funding, but we have not yet hired our SUN. What do we report?
If your site has funding but has not yet hired a Substance Use Navigator (SUN) or similar behavioral health counselor role, you are still expected to submit available data (including the number of patients receiving buprenorphine, the number of OUD and overdose diagnoses, etc.). For SUN or behavioral health counselor-related metrics, report ‘0’ until you have hired this role.
When is our data reporting due this month?
There is no monthly deadline for submitting BHPP data, except for Centers of Excellence. It is the site’s responsibility to keep track of their monthly submissions. Sites are encouraged to submit monthly data using an internal system that works best for them. Some sites report at the start of the month while some report in the middle of the month. The person submitting will receive an email receipt with a copy of the data.
How do I collect my data?
There are a few options for maintaining and collecting your data:
- Keep your email submission receipts. These will serve as a reference for what your site submitted to CA Bridge.
- Maintain and update your Internal Data Tracker.
- If you are missing any data submissions, reach out to your site’s Regional Director or the CA Bridge data team.
